Not far from Vienna one finds the 900-year-old abbey of Klosterneuburg. You may choose from different theme paths: for example the guided tour “The Sacred Path” includes the magnificent “Verdun Altar”, a masterpiece of the 12th century, and the a few years ago adapted treasury with its sacred art treasures.

On your way back to Vienna you will stop at the Kahlenberg, one of the most popular excursion destinations for the Viennese, due mainly to the stunning view from the terrace and the many “Heurige” (wine taverns) at the foot of the mountain.
