Very close to Schoenbrunn Palace this cemetery is located in the elegant neighbourhood of Hietzing. A number of renowned personalities are buried here, including composers Alban Berg and Gottfried von Einem, the playwright and poet Franz Grillparzer and his “eternal bride,” the painter Gustav Klimt, the architect Otto Wagner and the director of the famous Sisi films with Romy Schneider, Ernst Marischka. On a stroll through this lovely cemetery you will learn much about the lives and works of these artists.
